Recent Project in Medway
Irrigation System Control Upgrade
We were approached by a client in Medway who required improved control of their irrigation system. The existing system operated using a soft starter and manual control, but it did not provide the automatic pressure regulation required by the client.
The aim was to maintain a preset water pressure regardless of changes in demand, allowing the system to respond automatically as water consumption increased or decreased.
We installed an ABB inverter drive to provide more precise control of the pump motor, allowing its speed to be adjusted according to the system demand. We also modified the existing control panel wiring to accommodate the new inverter drive and integrate it correctly with the existing control system.
The upgrade provides improved control and more efficient operation of the irrigation system, whilst reducing unnecessary motor running and helping to minimise mechanical stress. This should contribute to improved reliability and potentially extend the working life of the equipment.
The system was fully tested and commissioned following the modifications, and the client was very pleased with the finished installation.
