Industrial Machinery Fault Finding & Repair
We were called to attend an industrial pot-making machine in Ashford after the equipment had stopped operating. The client had previously arranged for another electrical contractor to investigate the fault, but unfortunately the issue had not been resolved.
We carried out a thorough assessment of the machine and its associated electrical systems, methodically working through the equipment to establish the cause of the fault. Once the problem had been identified, we sourced and collected the necessary replacement components, allowing us to proceed with the repair without unnecessary delay.
The machine was successfully repaired, tested and returned to service on the same day, minimising disruption and allowing the client to resume normal operations.
The client was very pleased with the service and, in particular, the prompt and practical approach we took to diagnosing and resolving the fault.

Two-Post Vehicle Lift Fault Finding & Repair
We were called to investigate a two-post vehicle lift in Gillingham which was repeatedly tripping the main fuse.
The fault proved to be complex and required detailed electrical fault finding and testing to identify the underlying issue. During the investigation, it was established that the component requiring replacement was obsolete and no longer readily available, making a straightforward repair impractical.
Rather than recommending replacement of the entire two-post lift, our engineers developed an alternative electrical solution to overcome the fault and restore the equipment to operation. The repair successfully returned the lift to working order and saved the client the significant cost of replacing the complete unit.
The client was extremely pleased with the outcome and the practical approach taken to resolve what initially appeared to be a much more costly problem.

- Two-post vehicle lift fault finding
- Electrical fault diagnosis
- Investigation of repeated fuse tripping
- Testing of associated electrical components
- Alternative repair solution for obsolete equipment
- Electrical repair and recommissioning
Outdoor Defibrillator Electrical Installation
We were called to a commercial premises in Lordswood to install an external defibrillator unit and provide a suitable electrical supply for the equipment.
The installation required a new dedicated electrical supply circuit to be installed from the existing electrical installation to the external defibrillator location. Due to the layout of the premises and the route required for the new supply, the installation presented a number of practical challenges.
We planned the installation carefully, installed the new supply and completed the necessary electrical connections and testing to ensure the defibrillator unit was safely and reliably powered.
The work was completed to a high standard, providing the client with a suitable and dependable electrical supply for the outdoor unit. Another successful project and another satisfied customer.
Works included:
- Outdoor defibrillator electrical installation
- New dedicated supply circuit
- Commercial electrical installation
- External cable installation
- Electrical connections and testing
- Final inspection and commissioning
Industrial Control Panel & PLC Fault Finding
We were called to investigate a fault on a 15-year-old industrial electrical control panel incorporating a Sigmatek PLC rack. The age of the equipment and the legacy control system made the fault-finding process particularly challenging.
Accessing the system itself presented an additional difficulty, as the original setup required an older PS/2 keyboard and mouse connection to communicate with the control system. Working with this type of legacy equipment required a methodical approach and a strong understanding of PLC systems and programming.
The fault-finding process put our PLC programming and diagnostic skills to the test, requiring us to work through the control system carefully to establish what was preventing the machinery from operating correctly.
After extensive investigation and troubleshooting, we were able to identify and resolve the underlying issue and successfully return the system to working order.
It was far from a straightforward fault, but the successful outcome demonstrated the value of having the technical knowledge and experience to work with older industrial control systems and PLC equipment.
Project works included:
- Industrial electrical fault finding
- Legacy control panel investigation
- Sigmatek PLC diagnostics
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Legacy PS/2 interface connection
- Control system fault diagnosis
- Testing and recommissioning
- Restoration of the system to working order
Three-Phase Pump Control Upgrade
We were called to investigate an intermittent electrical fault affecting a three-phase pump in Rainham, which was occasionally tripping the electrical supply during start-up. As the fault was not occurring consistently, identifying the cause required careful testing and investigation of the existing control system.
We discovered that the pump was operated through an older star-delta starting arrangement, with a faulty component within the control system. Unfortunately, the original component was no longer readily available, making a like-for-like repair impractical.
Rather than replacing the complete system, we designed a more modern solution using a soft starter, allowing the existing pump to be brought up to speed in a smoother and more controlled manner.
The existing control panel presented an additional challenge as no electrical drawings were available. We therefore had to trace and understand the existing wiring before making significant modifications to the control circuit to accommodate the new soft-start arrangement.
Following the modifications, the pump was tested and recommissioned. The new starting arrangement provides smoother pump operation and a more modern method of motor control, resolving the intermittent start-up issue for the client.
Project works included:
- Three-phase pump fault finding
- Intermittent start-up fault diagnosis
- Investigation of existing star-delta controls
- Replacement of obsolete control equipment
- Soft starter installation
